Ipswich social cycling group

We are a group of adult cyclists based in and around Ipswich, Suffolk. We like relaxed and sociable rides, and don’t do anything competitive. Our advertised rides show the overall distance, expected pace, and an outline of the proposed route. Group size is typically up to 8 to 12. Each ride starts from a given location in or around Ipswich. We try to use Suffolk's quieter roads and lanes but look out for occasional off-road rides too. We ride out all year round, weather permitting. Typically we go 30 to 40 miles, at about 13 or 14 mph on the road rides; 20 miles or less when off-road and at a slower pace. The appropriate type of bikes for each ride advertised is clearly stated. Our rides usually have a cafe stop for cake, coffee, and bacon rolls, etc. The cafe stop is typically around two thirds of the way round. We don't race, never abandon anyone on the route, and give support when bikes need running repairs during a ride (it happens to us all!) We recommend the wearing of helmets and lycra clothing for cycling but you can wear whatever you're most comfortable in. Whatever ride we’re on, we just want to have a great day out on our bikes.
