Women - Breeze Tyneside

Part of British Cycling's Official ride programme for women and their children. We are a group of riders led by volunteer Breeze Champions. Our rides can be anything from 5 to 25 miles but the distance and level is advertised in advance. Rides frequently start at The Hub in Newcastle but can start from or lead to anywhere in the area including Gateshead, North and South Tyneside, Country Durham and South Northumberland depending on the interests of the Leader. We take part in the Newcastle City Council This Girl Can Rides which are every Tuesday night during the summer. There are other rides all year and most of our rides are off-road on cycleways or on quiet roads and the terrain is relatively flat. We always stop at a café for cake - we have some fantastic cycling cafes in our area! The rides are advertised on the letsride.co.uk web page as women only rides and on our facebook page. We are a fun, friendly and supportive bunch, our rides are very sociable and we never leave anyone behind. You only need to be able to ride to a basic level but your bike needs to be road-worthy. If you are not sure before you join us you can get your bike checked out at your local bike shop. Cycle helmets are advisory and compulsory for under 18 year olds.
