Welwyn Garden Evening Lanes

We will be cycling out to explore local villages near to Welwyn Garden City with a different route each week. Likely routes include Codicote, Kimpton, The Ayots, Tewin, Brickendon, Bayford, Colney Heath and Welham Green - and other local villages. We will cycle circular routes taking us out from Welwyn Garden and back. We may start on cycle paths to take us out of town and we will ride mostly on country lanes. Some sections will be busier with evening traffic but we will stay close. There will be hills and where we separate we will regroup at the top or at the bottom. We will make the most of the warmer, lighter evenings but aim to be back in Welwyn Garden before it gets dark. There are no scheduled breaks but we will pause for water and snack stops and to catch our breath!!

Helmets are compulsory. High visibility weather appropriate clothing must be worn - be safe, be seen. Cycling mitts are recommended for bumpy sections of roads. Front and rear cycle lights must be attached. Please ensure your water bottle is full and bring small snacks or energy gels / bars as there are no scheduled stops. Spare inner tubes, levers, a pump and puncture repair kit are recommended if you have them. In case of any incidents, please have the telephone number of a friend or relative that is available to assist in your return journey home.
