Meeting at the Bottle Bank on Henderson Road, we'll pedal out towards Appletreehall, taking a left up the steady climb to the A7 where we'll have a brief stretch on the main road before turning left towards Boonraw. Most of the hills are in the first section, but we'll have another wee steady climb up on the four road ends, passing Stouslie and onwards back to Hawick past Leahead Loch and in by Wilton Dean.
We're now losing light quicker, so our September rides are shorter but there's still some hills which is to be expected round Hawick. To ensure we make the most of it, please arrive in plenty time to ensure we're away sharp.
Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear clothing for the weather and bring some water or anything you think you might need to keep your energy up. Please ensure your bike is in working order, your tyres are pumped up and you have spares or tools relevant to your bike. If you are using an e-bike, please ensure there is sufficient charge, and should you have a mechanical, you have a plan in place to get back to Hawick.
If you have them, lights are also a great idea
