This is a lovely away day ride exploring the hidden lanes of the southern Lake District. The ride will take us through some lovely meandering single track lanes via Witherslack Wood and onward past Witherslack hall . We will visit Bolton By Bowland before travelling through the Winster Valley towards Lindale and eventually arriving in Grange -Over- Sands.

Witherslack Wander - a scenic ride through lovely meandering Witherslack lanes; exploring the winter valley Ride leaders: Celia Rishton and Val Bourne Distance: 24 miles Elevation: 1700 ft

The terrain is mostly on good tarmac roads, undulating single track lanes which are often traffic free. There will be some short tracks and some promenade riding in Grange -over- sands. There are also some busier lanes leading into Grange before we arrive at the shore.

We will stop along the way to catch our breath after each short hill climb and to admire the beautiful views. We plan to stop on the promenade at Grange for a lunch break . Photographs will be taken during the ride -if you prefer not to have your photo taken please let the ride leaders know beforehand.

Please bring a drink and some snacks to sustain you on the journey. As always helmets must be worn on HRS rides - no helmet no ride. Also check your bike the night before the ride to minimise potential breakdown.

First-timers welcome!
