Due to the terrain and distance, this is not a beginners ride. We will go at a steady pace, enjoying the sights and sounds of the countryside, but never leave anyone behind!

There are a couple of long but not steep inclines, where you will need to use a lower gear. Everyone goes at their own pace, and we always regroup afterwards to make sure anyone catches up if they need to, and has chance to have a breather before we set off again.

If you have any questions you can contact the leader directly via the 'Message Ride Creator' tab in the ride posting on Let's Ride unless you have their direct contact details already.

This scenic route is around 65% offroad (traffic free) and takes you on quiet lanes and woodland bridleways, starting with the Abbey Way, going through Berrygrove Woods, Aldenham Village and Letchmore Heath to the beautiful Aldenham Country Park and reservoir.

Mountain bikes, hybrids with offroad tyres, gravel / cyclocross bikes are best suited to this route. Bridleways and off road tracks may have muddy and uneven surfaces so road / slick tyres are rarely suitable.

We will stop at the Rustic Rhubarb cafe in Aldenham Country Park where you can enjoy a snack, hot drink or an ice-cream before heading back. There are also toilets on site.

Please dress appropriately for the weather (sunscreen if it's hot) and wear a helmet as the route goes through some bumpy terrain. Bring a drink and a snack if you like, a spare inner tube or two, some cash or a card for coffee.

We never leave anyone behind
