Meeting in St Boswells at the Buccleuch Hotel car park, we h.ead out to Maxton via Benrig and take quiet back roads through Fairnington and Rutherford to Roxburgh. From there we have the choice of riding the old railway line or the road to Kelso. From Kelso we ride through Floors Castle grounds for coffee at the Terrace Cafe. We return to St Boswells via Makerstoun.
Please ensure that your bike is in good working order and that you carry a spare tube, tyre levers and bike tools.
Helmets are mandatory and you should carry enough fluid for 2 hours of riding plus a snack or gel.
A spare jacket is also advisable and you should dress appropriately for the weather.
