The long way round to Hartlepool

From the car park at Hurworth Burn, we will cycle south towards Thorpe Thewles before turning east and pedalling on quiet road and cycle path into the outskirts of Williston, Billingham, Greatham and on to the sea at Seaton Carew before we make the urban sprawl of Hartlepool and head to the Marina for lunch.
From here we will pedal north to visit Andy Capp and then follow the Hart to Haswell cycle path (NCN14) to Castle Eden and Wingate before rejoining the NCN1 back to Hurworth Burn,

Mainly quiet roads with some cycle paths

We will be stopping at the Marina in Hartlepool for lunch

Helmets are always advisable, as are clothing suitable for the weather. It could be chilly so warm layers, a buff and waterproof coat would be ideal. We also recommend you bring along a spare inner tube, a bike pump and tyre levers if you have them. We can manage most mechanicals but its good to carry spares.
