Taster Ride - Martinsbridge - Week 2

We will start this route from the Hawick Common Haugh car park and meet over by the toilet area near the entrance. We will pedal from here through the park on the paths, leaving to travel on the road at the top end of the park. From here we will cycle on the road to Martinsbridge where we can have a wee break before returning on the same route.

Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and please ensure your bike is in good working order and the tyres have sufficient air in them. We have so many types of bikes nowadays, so please carry any spares you might need.

If you are using an E-bike, please ensure there is sufficient battery and you have a back up plan to get back to Hawick, should you have a mechanical/electrical fault. Lights are advisable too if you have them.

Please bring something to drink and a snack to eat if you think you might need it.

This ride is suitable for those just starting out on a bike, or who are wanting to get back out on their bike after a break. It will be at a nice gentle pace with leaders there to advise and help you along as we go. We never leave anyone behind on our rides and we want you to enjoy the ride and have fun.
