Starting point

Roxburghshire

For week 1 of our taster rides, we are using the cycle paths around Hawick to get everyone used to riding their bikes without any traffic. This will get you used to using your gears etc and also riding with others. This ride is suitable for those just starting out on a bike, or who are wanting to get back out on their bike after a break. It will be at a nice gentle pace with leaders there to advise and help you along as we go. We never leave anyone behind on our rides and we want you to enjoy the ride and have fun.

Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and please ensure your bike is in good working order and the tyres have sufficient air in them. We have so many types of bikes nowadays, so please carry any spares you might need.

If you are using an E-bike, please ensure there is sufficient battery and you have a back up plan to get back home, should you have a mechanical/electrical fault. Lights are advisable too if you have them.

Please bring something to drink and a snack to eat if you think you might need it.
