HP2 7BA

This is a very easy-going ride, for those who are new to cycling, wanting a relaxing weekend ride, just returning to cycling or want to cycle with their children. All under 18 are required to wear a cycling helmet. We will ride at the pace that is best suited to everyone in the group, usually between 5-8mph. As leaders we will ensure that no one is left behind, so that all the group can have an enjoyable ride.

We will be riding approximately 6 miles on the traffic free cycle track, called ‘The Nickey Line, heading towards Redbourn. We will stop for a short while at the Millenium Park which was a turning point for the old steam trains. The Nickey Line is a disused railway line that is now accessible for cycling and walking. This is beautiful, shady track with some tarmac, it can be a little bumpy and/or muddy in places. However it is a perfect riding area for anyone wanting to get back into riding with the support of a small group.

Please arrive at 10 minutes early so we can undertake our bike check and a briefing about the ride.
Please remember to bring,
Two spare inner tubes for your bike, even if you do not know how to change them, someone in the group will, as well as the appropriate tools (tyre levers)
A waterbottle with a drink in, riding can be very thirsty work.
Cycle helmet, for your own safety. Under 18 years olds must wear helmets
Appropriate clothing for the weather
Now for the covid bit…..
Although Covid restrictions have been lifted we are asking all riders to be respectful to other riders. Please do not attend if you have Covid symptoms or have been in contact with other people that have Covid.
