Starting point

Roxburghshire
TD9 9EN

We will meet at the Heart of Hawick and pedal out past Stobs and up Cogsmill. We will continue on this road towards Shankend Viaduct, turning in at the farm. Depending on the weather, there might be some puddles so mudguards are advisable. We will pedal under the viaduct and into the beautiful countryside along hard standing forest tracks. There are some wee climbs and a few gates we need to go through but it's a lovely route and worth it. We will return to Hawick along the old Waverley Line passing the very friendly and unique farm animals on Shankend Park and onto Stobs after which, we return to tarmac. A very enjoyable and lovely route for you to experience.

There is no cafe stop on this ride so we advise you bring a flask and a bite to eat and we can stop midway for a wee refreshment.

Please wear suitable clothing, always wear your helmet and bring with you the appropriate tools or spares for your bike in case of a mechanical.

An appropriate bike is required for this ride, either a Gravel or a Hard Tail Mountain Bike with wide tyres. This is not suitable for road bikes.
