We will be cycling from The Active Dacorum Hub out through mainly quieter lanes with a few sections on slightly busier roads to get to St Albans and the NEW cycle hub that has opened. There will be food stalls onsite, the site itself has its own Café, and they’ll be cycling attractions for all to do. These include, pump track sessions, crazy bikes, a bouncy castle, balance bike circuit for the kids, food stalls.
Our route is approx. 20 miles, we will stop at the festival and take time to enjoy the festivities and indulge in some food. This will be free time before we look at returning home. We will decide as a group how long we wish to stay at the festival.
The Active Dacorum hub wont be open at the start so there are no toilet facilities, please make sure you come prepared with your water etc and your bike in condition to ride.
We will aim to cycle at the pace of approx 10mph, we will always wait and let the group catch up and of course wait at the top of hills. This ride is all on road apart from a short section (few hundred meters) on a hard gravel track. It can be ridden by a road bike but there is the choice to walk this short section if desired. This ride is suitable for any bike, please ride what you are most comfortable on with regard the length and pace of the ride.
