Starting point

London
W5 2BY

We will cross the Thames at Kew Bridge and then again at Hammersmith bridge. We will use the tow paths on the south side of the river as well as quieter roads through Barnes. Our route will take us through Fulham and onto Kensington where we will head for our refreshment stop at The De Morgan Café within Leighton House.
We should be able to visit the garden and possibly part of Leighton House before making our way to Holland Park and the Dutch Gardens, where although the tulips are not yet in full bloom, other Spring blossoming trees and flowers are a beautiful sight. We will also admire the charming and quirky Gnome Garden.
To return to Ealing, we will used a more direct route, using the C9 cycle path from Hammersmith to Chiswick and then we will cycle through Gunnersbury Park, where more botanical splendours await.

We will enjoy the signs of Spring in the various green spaces, parks and streets of London.

This is a mostly a flat route using various cycle paths, tow paths and quieter roads. We will avoid roads with too much traffic as much as possible and will travel at a leisurely pace.

Our refreshment break will be at The De Morgan Café within Leighton House. https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/museums/de-morgan-cafe-leighton-house https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/museums/free-visit-areas-leighton-house

Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. Bring some money/card for the refreshments in the café. Bring Locks for your bike. We will need to park our bicycles along High Street Kensington, so it is imperative that everyone has a good lock to secure their bicycle. Bring Water & snacks as our refreshment stop will only be after cycling 13 miles. If you can't make it anymore, cancel your space so someone else can join.

First-timers welcome!
