Saturday Social to The Vertish Golf Club

Meet at the Teviotdale Leisure Centre and pedal along the new black path and onwards to Hamilton Road. Take a left and head out of Burnfoot Industrial Estate taking a right towards Hornshole. Continue onwards at the junction and pedal out to Denholm past Denholm Beach. As you approach Denholm, take a right on the main street and a left just before the post office. Continue up the road onto the Bonchester Heights where you go left and then take the right onto Earlside. Return to Hawick taking a right to Cogsmill. You will pass Stobs and where the pig farm is. Take a left after you pass the small bridge and pedal up the hill taking the right junction and then right again, enjoying the downhill towards the Vertish Golf Club, which is where our suggested refreshment stop is. The lovely ladies from the Pavillion Cafe will have lots of goodies at hand for you. Once you're refreshed, pedal downwards towards the town and along commercial road, back to the leisure centre if your car is parked there.

Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear clothing for the weather and bring some water or anything you think you might need to keep your energy up. Please ensure your bike is in working order, your tyres are pumped up and you have spares or tools relevant to your bike. If you are using an e-bike, please ensure there is sufficient charge, and should you have a mechanical, you have a plan in place to get back to Hawick.
