Saturday Short & Steady Ride: South Acton & Chiswick

Regular West London Breeze riders are probably familiar with our Chiswick Old & New ride which visits a range of historic sites around Chiswick, notably the wonderful Mosaic House created by artist Carrie Reichardt https://carriereichardt.com/mosaic-house. This time, before we reach the Mosaic House, we will visit Carrie Reichardt and colleagues’ other projects in South Acton, the Tree of Life mosaic https://carriereichardt.com/tree-of-life and the quirky mosaic sofa in South Acton Park, and see vibrant examples of street art in this area. Then we will head down to Chiswick House & Gardens for refreshments, and maybe an opportunity to admire the flower gardens.

After a brief detour to see an interesting memorial in a neighbouring road, we will ride down to the river and through Duke’s Meadows to Kew Bridge, and then back to Ealing, with the possibility of an additional detour via Gunnersbury Park if we have time.

Although Covid restrictions are no longer in force, please continue to be mindful. Please do not attend if you have any Covid 19 symptoms, have tested positive, or are currently required to self-isolate. You may wish to bring a face covering for use in enclosed public spaces.
