THIS RIDE: mostly away from motor traffic to Northala Fields, in Ealing, predominantly using the Grand Union Canal. This is suitable for those who want to practice cycling but aren't confident on roads, or simply want a quiet scenic ride.
DESTINATION: we stop for a break at the café in Northala Fields and also climb up the mound on our bikes – it will be fun!
THE ROUTE: Grand Union Canal for most of it, Pitshanger and Perivale parks, Marnham Fields and the cycling lane along the A40. There are unpaved sections with gravel which may not be suitable for skinny tyres.
We aim to be back at around 2pm.
