Starting point

West Yorkshire
BD18 4DD

We leave Hirst Wood and head over Bingley Road at lights up to Moorhead for stunning views.
We then head down to Lee Lane and into Wilsden and then Harden where we turn up towards Ryecroft. Reaching the Guide Inn we head down to Crossroads and then through Haworth with a chance to look at the heritage railway before heading towards Stanbury via Lower Laithe Reservoir. We then head up past Ponden Reservoir until we reach Scar Top and turn sharply back upon ourselves and can enjoy the views of where we have been. Heading down to Oakworth we then go through Newsholme, Laycock and Braithwaite village before our well earned stop at Cliffe Castle. Suitably refreshed, we have a short journey back to Hirst wood along the tow path.

Route rating

A ride from Hirst Wood heading out past Ponden Reservoir and turning back at Scar Top through the villages outside Keighley before joining the towpath back to the start.

The roads as far as our refreshment stop at Cliffe Castle are a mix of quiet urban and rural roads. There is a fair amount of climbing that rewards with stunning views and downhills. The tow path will be followed from Cliffe Castle to our start point.

Cliffe Castle will be our refreshment stop which will ne over two-thirds of the way round. The setting is worthy of a second look and the facilities including food and drink are first rate.

Please wear a helmet, bring a spare inner tube and suitable wear for the forecast weather.

We never leave anyone behind
