Meandering to KWVR

Leaving Hirst Wood we climb up Moorhead Lane via Saltaire before passing through Wilsden via Lee Lane. We head towards Harecroft before joining the Great Northern Railway Trail and crossing Hewenden and Cullingworth viaducts. Climbing out of Cullingworth to the top of Ryecroft we then drop down to Crossroads to go through Haworth towards Stanbury before
climbing up past Lower Laithe Reservoir to arrive at Oxenhope Station after 16 miles. Climbing again, this time out of Oxenhope through Leeming to the Dog & Gun before crossing the moor top to Manywells and then down (and up) Whalley Lane to Wilsden Moor. Making our way to Harden we go through the St Ives Estate before dropping down into Bingley and joining the canal at Dowley Gap for a short stretch to Hirst Wood.

Another chance to revisit the Oxenhope Station of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway when steam trains are running

Apart from a short stretch on the canal towpath, all the route is on road but with minimal main road exposure

We will stop at Oxenhope Station of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway where there is a choice of outdoor seating on the platform or inside the refurbished Buffet Carriage.

Helmets to be worn along with visible clothing suitable for the autumn weather and please bring a spare inner tube.
