Starting point

West Yorkshire
LS20 9PY

We leave the car park and head up towards the Chevin Pub and then drop down West Chevin Road into Otley. Cutting through Manor Garth Park we miss the traffic of Otley and come out by the bridge over the Wharfe. After crossing the river we turn right towards Farnley. Just after crossing River Washburn we turn left towards Leathley and then right towards Stainburn. After nearly 9 miles and 900 ft of climbing we reach the Crag and the amazing views in front of it. After a break and photo shoot we drop down through Huby to Weeton and make our way alongside River Wharfe to Pool. Just past the roundabout we head up Old Pool Bank which, according to my Garmin, climbs 550ft in 1.25 miles, albeit in two bits as we have to cross A660. At the top of Old Pool Bank we join A658 for a short while and then turn left towards Bramhope just past Hilton Grange, now a housing development but previously a large residential children's facility. Passing through the centre of Bramhope we stop at Tredgold Ave where it meets Leeds Road for our refreshment stop. Duly fed and watered we retrace our route back to the centre of Bramhope before turning left on to Moor Road until we reach Otley Old Road and take that towards Leeds Bradford Airport. Having passed through LBA we turn up past the viewing area and down into Yeadon before returning to Guiseley.

This is a shorter ride, starting in Guiseley and going to Almscliffe Crag, a Millstone Grit outcrop that can be seen from miles around. Having climbed up to it and then gone downhill to the River Wharfe, we climb up Old Pool Bank which is closed to through traffic until October 2024 but is accessible by bike and also very quiet. We go to Bramhope for our refreshment stop and then back to Guiseley past Leeds Bradford Airport.

The ride is wholly on road, predominantly quiet but undulating. There are one or two short main roads to follow.

We will stop in Bramhope after 18.5 miles and there are two cafes opposite aech other with indoor and outdoor seating plus public seating for those self catering.

Please wear a helmet and bring a spare inner tube. Also make sure your contact and emergency details are up to date on Lets Ride website. Check the forecast and bring appropriate clothing/sun screen etc.

We never leave anyone behind
