Starting point

London
W5 2TD

We will use a relatively direct route in both directions to the Izabella Plantation.
Our route will take us through Ealing, Brentford, Grove Park, crossing the Thames at Chiswick Bridge, then onto Sheen and into Richmond Park to reach Izabella Plantation. We will attach our bicycles outside the enclosure and walk through the garden to admire the spectacular blossoms and reflections in the ponds. We will then head for our refreshment stop at the Pembroke Lodge Café.
Our return journey will see us cycling mostly downhill along the Tamsin Trail, through peaceful roads in Sheen and Kew before crossing the Thames at Kew Bridge, going into Gunnersbury Park and back to our starting point.
This route will use various cycle paths and quieter roads, avoiding as much as possible busy roads and traffic and we will travel at a leisurely pace.
Please note: We will need to push our bicycles over a railway bridge near Richmond station using the purpose made gutters/channels next to the steps to assist us. As a group we will help those who might struggle with that.

We will enjoy a walk amongst the beautiful azaleas and rhododendrons in Izabella Plantation. Our refreshment break will be at the Pembroke Lodge Café, or you can also bring your own food and eat it on the benches.

Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. Bring some money/card for the refreshments in the café. Bring Locks for your bike. We will need to park our bicycles outside Izabella Plantation, so it is imperative that everyone has a good lock to secure their bicycle. Bring Water & snacks as our refreshment stop will only be after walking through Izabella Plantation. If you can't make it anymore, cancel your space so someone else can join.

First-timers welcome!
