Urmston

A flat route that starts at Urmston Leisure centre, before departing Trafford via Irlam Locks to the other side of the ship canal (into Salford and Cheshire) passing Irlam and Cadishead (using the cycle path on the side of the A57). The route returns to Trafford via Warburton bridge and onto Dunham Massey where a well deserved tea and cake stop can be had. The route then returns to the start using country lanes and traffic free routes.

Suitable for most bikes - even the traffic free section is fairly road bike friendly- you should make sure your bike is in good working order and that you have the means to fix a puncture, even if you may need help to do it. It’s always a good idea to carry water with you and to dress for the great British weather! Helmets are compulsory for under 18s and strongly recommended for everyone else.
