Starting point

London
W5 2BY

This is a mostly flat circular route around Ealing, Greenford, Horsenden Hill, West Acton, Ealing Common and back to Ealing Broadway using predominantly cycle paths and the tow path along the Grand Union Canal. We will be using very few roads and those will be quiet back streets.
Cyclists joining this ride must be confident riding along the tow path, which at times can be narrow.
As part of our journey, we will enter the Ealing Wildlife Group Beaver enclosure. A family of five beavers were reintroduced into the wetlands of Paradise Field in 2023 and since then they have built dams and appear to be thriving.

We will cycle a bit further along the canal to reach Horsenden Farm where we will stop for refreshments at The Horsenden Loaf.

At Horsenden Farm we will be able to see the cutest little harvest mice, another project run by Ealing Wildlife Group. In order to reintroduce these tiny little rodents into Ealing’s Perivale Wood and beyond.

Besides these two Ealing Wildlife Group Projects, we will be enjoying the sight of various birds and insects along our route.

We will be discovering a number of green spaces in cycling proximity of Ealing.
We will stop at the Horsenden Loaf, at Horsenden Farm for refreshments.
Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable.
Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture.
If you can't make it anymore, cancel your space so someone else can join.
Bring some money/card for the refreshments in the café.
Bring Locks for your bike.
Bring Water & snacks.
First-timers welcome!
