Setting off from Ryal Fold we head up a steady incline which soon steepens to a significant gradient in places. At the top we make our way across Darwen Moor towards the tower. There are a few tricky, narrow and rutted singletrack sections along this route. From Darwen Tower, we head down towards Darwen by traversing the hillside along a rocky and gravelly track. The nature of the terrain means that the group will need to spread out in places.
We then make our way to Roddlesworth Woods where we have some undulating trails followed by more notable climbing back to Darwen Moor.
The final descent back to Ryal Fold follows our initial hill climb down a loose, rocky trail.
We will be cycling on mostly off road trails with a few short connecting road sections.
This is ride does have some technical sections that some of our riders may not be used to and as such, it does require MTB experience for these sections as well as a good level of fitness / stamina, as there are some notable climbs.
As always on a HRS ride, no helmet, no ride. Please be self-sufficient and ensure
you have all the equipment you would need for your own bike for any trailside
repair. Also bring a snack and liquid refreshments.
Ensure your emergency contact details are up to date on the “Let’s Ride” website and your contact is aware of where you are going.
Please wear/carry appropriate clothing and bring a waterproof, just in case.

A "challenging" ride for mountain bikes only, that is a bit more technical than our usual rides.

Mostly off road trails.

We never leave anyone behind
