After a bike check at the Leisure Centre, we'll take the smooth pathway along the Waverley Path and into the Burnfoot Industrial Estate, heading out towards Denholm on the Hassendean Road. We'll take a right at Minto Crossroads and onwards to Denholm, turning right just after the Cream Puff. Pedaling out of Denholm past the limits,we'll take a left up Honeyburn, heading towards Cavers where we can enjoy more lovely views of the surrounding countryside. As we approach the Bonchester Road (A6088), we'll turn right and head back to Hawick.
We're now losing light quicker, so our September rides are shorter but there's still some hills which is to be expected round Hawick. To ensure we make the most of it, please arrive in plenty time to ensure we're away sharp.
Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear clothing for the weather and bring some water or anything you think you might need to keep your energy up. Please ensure your bike is in working order, your tyres are pumped up and you have spares or tools relevant to your bike. If you are using an e-bike, please ensure there is sufficient charge, and should you have a mechanical, you have a plan in place to get back to Hawick.
