Breeze goes on holiday - The Bath Two Tunnels Greenway

Join me for this lovely Breeze ride around Bath and the surrounding area following mainly canal towpaths with some short sections of road at the start point, through Coombe Down and towards the end through the centre of Bath. The ride is 13 miles of nice flat cycling with just a few small hills so should be accessible for all. Meet at the Cwmbran Stadium carpark at 10am where we will consolidate cars / bike racks and share lifts so we can minimise the parking needed at Bath and share costs of travelling. We will then head to the Bathampton Mill at BA2 6TS and park there. Parking is free so maybe we can have a drink there before we start or at the end just as a thank you to the landlord. Remember to take £1 in change for the Bathampton toll bridge. The route takes us along the road towards the George Pub where join the canal towpath and cycle towards the Canal basin and the Angelfish Café for a lunch stop. Then its on to Coombe Down, Midford (look out for the castle and I'll tell you which Hollywood star bought it!) then we head into the tunnels. There are two, one is just over a mile and the other one shorter. The tunnels are quite atmospheric with lowlighting and classical music played in the longer one. Then we head along the river into Bath city centre where we re-join the canal towpath and head back to the start! Hope you enjoy this ride , its great fun to do!
