Breeze riders, have you ever wanted to explore further afield, discover more of the lanes and villages of the Chilterns, challenge yourself on routes which you may have been reluctant to try by yourself? This year our local Breeze Champions are running the Chilterns Cycleway Challenge. This will be a series of 7 rides spread out over the spring and summer months. The Chilterns Cycleway is a circular route through the Chilterns from Henley and Ewelme in the west to Harlington and Apsley in the East. The route has been adapted to comprise 7 loops of approx. 32 miles. This allows us to start and finish from the same parking place. The CCC is aimed at leisure riders, it is a social, not an endurance event. Where there are challenging hills it will be perfectly acceptable to walk and push your bike if necessary. The event is pure Breeze; social, fun, and supportive. Riders can sign up for as many or few of the loops as they wish, there is no obligation to complete all of them. Each ride will have at least 2 Champions so there will be plenty of support. This loop takes us out towards the eastern part of the CC down through Wigginton and Aldbury , out to Ringshall and Markyate. Its a lumpy but very pretty route around some areas which are less familiar to us. We return via the Gaddesdans and Berkhamsted.
We will be on a mixture of rural roads and busier ones.
There will be a cafe stop at about the halfway mark.
Please wear a helmet, bring a spare inner tube and pump. Check your bike over in advance to make sure the brakes are working and tyres are pumped up!
We never leave anyone behind
