Belles ‘Tour of Britain’ Sunday

The Tour of Britain stage is coming to the Borders on Tuesday 3rd September so thought we could show them all how the Belles can climb the Dunion Hill before they try it! We might not be as fast, but I’m sure you’ll all enjoy the challenge!

Starting from the Bottle Bank at Henderson Road we will pedal to Denholm where we will join the main road for a short distance before taking a right turn onto the Dunion Hill. We will pedal at your own pace up the hill and will have a welcomed stop at Naomi’s cafe before enjoying the downhill into Jedburgh. We will travel through Jedburgh and onto the main road again for a short distance before taking the left turn to Ancrum before heading back to Hawick via Denholm and Horsleyhill.

Please wear a helmet and gloves are advisable. Wear clothing for the weather and bring some water or anything you think you might need to keep your energy up. Please ensure your bike is in working order, your tyres are pumped up and you have spares or tools relevant to your bike. If you are using an e-bike, please ensure there is sufficient charge, and should you have a mechanical, you have a plan in place to get back to Hawick.

Oh and remember some money for the cafe stop. Imagine climbing the Dunion and then missing the goodies at the cafe!
