MTB Adventures

A group for intermediate and advanced mountain bikers to connect. For those who enjoy big cross country days in the National Parks, typically in the North of England and Wales, possible trips to Scotland and the South of England and Wales may be arranged with regular members. Visits to MTB trail centres and bike parks may also be arranged. Rides may be posted formally by group admin, but can also be informally arranged in the "Conversation" message board (please keep to the guidelines below), keep notifications turned on to receive alerts for formal rides and message board rides. Rides will typically be on bridleways, tracks and established mountain bike trails, 15 - 25 miles distance, 600-1200m ascent. Sections of technical terrain are usually to be expected (e.g. rocks, boulders, roots, occasional rollable drop-offs), an estimate 'grade' will be given for each ride. Route descriptions will be provided for every ride, which may or may not have been recce'd but will have been meticulously researched using maps, guidebooks and video resources. Helmets must be worn, other body protection at riders own discretion. Group size will be limited due to the longer, more technical nature of rides. E-MTBs very welcome however must be willing to wait for MTBs to catch up and take sufficient rest breaks and able to lift bike over gates (with assistance) if required (will do best to avoid locked gates/stiles in route planning but you never know). This will be a supportive group, there's no shame in pushing/carrying the bike up or down, and no one gets left behind, however please use sensible judgement in your ability and fitness to complete a fulfilling ride before joining it.
