Woods & Water (Progressive ride. Ladies Only)

Join Lesley and Alison for a leisurely Sunday morning bike ride to Haigh Hall. Leaving the car park at Borsdane woods we cycle through the woods and then head through Hindley for our second woods - Amber woods. Then its onto the canal towpath into Haigh and our café stop. We return along the road back to our starting point.

Please bring a spare inner tube , bike pump and money for the café. Helmets are mandatory on this ride. You also need to be a member of Horwich Ride Social , if you're not already then please email [email protected] for a form or download one off the webpage Horwichridesocial.org
If you don't want to be in photos we use for social media then please let the ride leader know at the start of the ride.

Ride Leaders - Taz Jolly & Lesley Doxsey This is a great ride for ladies progressing from Easygoing to Steady rides , it uses a mixture of woodland trails, canal towpaths and roads . Average Speed 8 mph Elevation 589 ft Starting in Aspull ( on road parking - What Three Words = flashing shield firework or Google plus codes HC88+vx5 Wigan.) we cycle on the road initially to join the trail ( might be muddy) through Borsdane Woods coming out at Hindley. Navigating our way through Hindley we then join another trail through Ambers Woods then use the canal towpath to bring us into Haigh park. After our cafe stop at Haigh Hall courtyard we head back on the road to our start point.

If you have not completed a ride participant form previously for one of the HRS rides, please request one via email [email protected], Facebook messenger or through the lets ride site. Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride unfortunately. Please bring your spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump (don’t worry about the latter if you don’t have one). A lock is needed for the café stop.
