This steady paced ride is suitable for experienced riders with hybrid tyres, the route is relatively flat, although there are a few inclines, which you can take at your own pace and we meet up at the top. We will be riding on a mixture of quiet and busy roads through to Uxbridge and Iver where we will pick up route 61 passing Langley park, then through to Slough onto Eton. We then cycle along the river to Clewer and weave through to Windsor & Eton FC where we will enter Windsor Great park. Following the cycle paths we will head towards the King George III equestrian statue near the polo field and stop nearby for refreshments at Clara's Cocina.
We will then carry on to Saville Gardens where we will leave the park onto Wick Lane and down to Old Windsor, then through Datchet and Ditton park where we will pick up route 61 again through to Iver and then back to Eastcote via Hillingdon. There is a get out at Uxbridge, if you are feeling tired.
There are some stretches of route 61 that are bumpy as we pass alongside a farm and through a wooded area, so hybrid tyres are best.
- Please check your bike thoroughly before you come. Bring water, a bike lock and card for the café. I also recommend that you carry a spare inner tube.
