Starting point

London
EC1M 6BY

Starting from Farringdon Station, we ride past the Barbican, through Shoreditch and across London Fields, to Hackney Downs. From here, it is a short ride to the Lea Valley and the wonderful open spaces of Leyton & Walthamstow Marshes. We ride across the Marshes, past the Walthamstow Wetlands, and on to the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow.

We will pause here, with time to visit the current exhibition about women textile designers https://wmgallery.org.uk/event/women-in-print/ as well as the permanent collection (admission is free of charge). We can have refreshments in the café https://wmgallery.org.uk/visit/cafe/, or if you prefer, you can bring your own food for a picnic in the gardens, provided that the weather is fine.

After our lunch stop, we ride on, following the River Lea towpath before climbing out of the valley up to Stamford Hill. We go on via Clissold Park to Highbury Corner, then down through Islington to return to Farringdon for train services home.
