A fantastic mainly road but not busy roads a fantastic gravel bike ride as there is a bit of off road bits a few woodland areas. Only about 20 % off road most is road some gravel and TPT is recycled rubber tyres. This is a varied tarrain ride around some beautiful villages of eastern parts of Doncaster .

Heading off at the start going up towards Doncaster racecourse on the south side of the course heading into sandal beat woods then into the pit village of armthorpe we then enter the beautiful woodland area shaw woods looping around to Barnby Dunn picturesque village after passing through edenthorpe. We then head out on the quiet lanes and canal banks to sykehouse where our cafe stop is , we take in the beautiful views of the snowdrops at Kirk bramwith on the way .this is a very enjoyable ride along the banks of the new cut canal of braithwaite to sykehouse . Our return journey takes us on the quiet lanes through villages of moss trumfleet Haywood tilts then shafthome then we follow the TPT back toll bar through to Bentley over the pit top etc we then follow the trail back east towards sprotbrough but cut off into the greenway bridleway over to the city and use the new cycle infrastructure cycleways around the city and back to the ten pin bowling car park area.

Woodland trails , trans pennine trail , Doncaster greenway . And quiet country lanes through unspoiled countryside areas .

Stopping at a picture perfect area to possibly view still in flower spring snowdrops . Plenty of places of interest to stop for pictures on the canal at the locks etc. stopping at a beautiful authentic cafe the wheels cafe in the beautiful village of sykehouse. Riding through some ancient woodland owston woods on the TPT over the railway and through a farm heading over Bentley pit top etc spoil beautifully landscaped great views and place to take photos.

Helmets are advisable for this ride , bring tools spare inner tubes pump, warm suitable clothes , and cash /card for cafe stop .
