From the Sport Hub car park, we ride out to the Cheney Manor estate and turn left to join up with the cycle path alongside Akers Way. We follow the cycle path as the road becomes Moredon Road until we reach a Pelican crossing.

From here we climb up to through Woodhall Park to reach the cycle path, turning left and crossing over Westfield Way via a bridge. We then descend downhill to the Tawny Owl pub.

We follow the cycle path which is National Cycleway 45 which runs along the southern edge of Thamesdown Drive. We follow the cycle path across several sets of traffic lights until we reach the junction for Abbey Meads.

Here we turn right into Abbey Meads following the cycle paths that take us through this part of Swindon until we reach Seven Fields. The route takes us first along the western edge of this green area and then as we turn left we follow its southern edge until we reach Whitworth Road.

We cross into Pinehurst and using the cycle paths follow Pinehurst Road until we turn right onto a cycle path that takes us back to Rodbourne Cheney. We cross the main road and follow the cycle path back to Cheney Manor and Moredon Sports Hub.

An evening ride from Moredon Sports Hub circling around the parish of Haydon Wick. This is one of a series of gentle evening rides exploring an area of Swindon.

The route is on quieter traffic roads and cycle paths. It’s a pretty flat route that circles around the middle of Swindon. There is a gentle climb from Moredon Road up to the Woodhall Cycle Path.

As this is a short ride there won’t be any official stops. However, there is a café at the start and finish.

Please bring a bottle for your bike with your favourite thirst quencher and snacks to keep you going. For all your rides we recommend that you bring a spare inner tube that is suitable for your bike, plus a pump. If your wheels are bolted on, then please bring a spanner that fits your bike’s wheel nuts. You should dress appropriately for the weather and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or a debit card. Some places only accept card payments these days. As this is an evening ride please bring lights for your bike in case we are delayed and arrive back after sunset.

We welcome anyone to join us and ride with us, whether this is your first time or someone who has participated on previous rides. We will never leave anyone behind.
