Starting from The Cha Cafe in the Green Flag Award Winning Cassiobury Park, this ride takes you through parkland, ancient woodland and rural countryside. It's part traffic-free, part on road and part trail. After passing through Cassiobury Park and taking on the gradual climb up the Gravel Path through Whippendell Woods, there's a whizz down Grove Mill Lane past The Grove Golf Course to then pass along the Grand Union Canal towpath towards Croxley Moor. We have special permission to ride through Croxley Moor, a site of special scientific interest. We then continue on to the Ebury Way to Watford Cycle Hub, before returning to Cassiobury via the Grand Union Canal towpath once more. A lovely double loop-the-loop and a perfect mini adventure for adults & children alike! :)
This is a 'Steady' category ride and is about giving adults & children a go, without any pace pressure. The ride pace will probably average 6-8 mph.
As it is Father's Day, father & son Ian & Tom Barber will fittingly be your Ride Leaders, together with Go Ride Coach Nick Bury. :)
Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped.
Please also bring a spare inner tube with you. Changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue, should anyone suffer a puncture on the day & our Ride Leader team are happy to help fix it should you need it. :)
Should your bike be in need of a bit more TLC, as a Not-For-Profit, Community Enterprise, we do free bike assessments and will offer you an honest price for fixing, fine tuning or servicing your bike.
