A steady ride to Vauxhall in South London through Vauxhall Park and Bonnington Square to visit Vauxhall City Farm. Despite riding through lots of segregated cycling lanes, we do need to take on a few busy roads, so this ride is not suitable for beginners. We will spend time at the farm to see the animals, so that will be a long-ish day out. You must bring a lock as the farm has a strict policy of no bikes inside their facilities.
We start our ride cutting through Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and Victoria until we cross Vauxhall Bridge. We are soon at Vauxhall Park where we will go for a tootle around to see the miniature village. We then head off to Bonnington Square just around the corner, where we find a little hidden oasis at Bonnington Square Pleasure Gardens and Harleyford Road Gardens.
We carry on to Vauxhall City Farm where we stop at the Old Dairy Café for a break and then visit the animals. Between the coffee break and visiting the facilities, we will spend at least an hour and a half here, maybe more if it’s too busy. The farm depends on donations and they suggest £3 as an entry fee, but that’s not compulsory. Find out more about the farm here:
www.vauxhallcityfarm.org/about-us/After our visit we make our way back to Roundwood Park via Westminster Bridge, Hyde Park and Little Venice. We aim to be back by 3.30pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, join the waiting list as places always become available near the date.
