Starting point

London
W5 5AH

This is a one-way ride, from Ealing into Central London.

We will ride from Ealing into Central London, taking our familiar route via Cycleway 9 to Hammersmith, then up to Holland Park, through the Royal Parks to Parliament Square and onto Cycleway 3 along the Embankment.

We will ride as far as Blackfriars Bridge, where we will pause to explore the newly developed Bazalgette Embankment, part of the Tideway Project https://www.tideway.london/locations/bazalgette-embankment/#sub-nav.

Then we will retrace our steps to the Temple area in time for refreshments at the lovely Garden Room café https://www.middletemple.org.uk/lunch/garden-room.

We then have the option of visiting the Two Temple Place Gallery to view the current free exhibition, “The Weight of Being: Vulnerability, Resilience, and Mental Health in Art” https://twotempleplace.org/exhibitions/the-weight-of-being/ . As well as the exhibition, the building itself is renowned for its lavish architecture and decoration, including elaborate wood carvings and vibrant stained glass.

You are free to make your way home in your own time, by bike or on public transport. It is a short ride to Blackfriars station (District Line, ThamesLink) or else to Farringdon (Elizabeth Line, Metropolitan Line).
