Tredegar park to Cwmcarn forest visitor centre

We will head out through the park and then up the hill by Tiny Rebel to join the canal towpath. Then it's just follow the towpath until we reach the entrance to the forest. It's a short climb up to the visitor centre to get to our coffee stop.
After a short break, we head back down to the towpath and follow it back to Fourteen Locks. Then we drop down the path and over the little bridge to follow Brickyard Lane to Western Avenue. Finally, we go down the hill and back into the park.

A scenic ride along the canal to Cwmcarn forest

The route is mostly traffic free using a mix of paths and canal towpaths. There is a small section on road as we return to Newport and also as we climb up the drive into the forest.

We will stop at the café at the forest visitor centre

Please wear a helmet and bring along a lock and some money for the rest stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube.
