Starting point

North Yorkshire
YO19 4TA

This route is mostly on cycle paths and is a great way to see the sights of York.
There is some small sections of dirt trail and some small sections of quiet road.
Cycling on path towards Naburn and join the 'Solar System' paved trail towards Bishopthorpe where we literally will be travelling to the Sun. We then follow paved trails through Rowntree Park then along the river Ouse on the quiet roads of Skeldergate and Wellington Row before joining the trails to Rawcliffe Country park. We follow paved trails and cycleways back towards York Minster for a cafe stop in the grounds of the YHA. After lunch we travel from York Minster down the quiet Aldwark road to the River Foss crossing. We follow paved paths east to Derwenthorpe Park. Then south on some quiet roads and at Windmill Lane we rejoin the paved paths which lead us back to the river Ouse and up to Clifford Tower. Then follow the paved paths back along the river Ouse and over the Millennium bridge. We turn southward along the riverbank dirt trails before rejoining the paths to return to the Designer Outlet.

This is a social ride together as a group. We pause the ride for punctures sustained. Ultimately riders are individually responsible for their own bike maintenance and own safety. It is always advised helmets are worn, use a bike lock, and bring tools and spares to repair a puncture etc. (Most important is bring a spare inner tube and pump). Check the ride distance, elevation, duration, terrain and bicycle type of this ride is compatible with your ability and bicycle.

Bring cash/card for cafe.

New riders to the group are very welcome.
We may take some photos during the ride for promoting future rides. If you don't wish to be in any photos, please let me know before the ride.

Note, to join the ride you must book on to the ride using the ‘Lets Ride’ website. Also, please check the website prior to the ride time in the event of ride cancellation.
