Ride leaders Martin Doxsey and Lesley Doxsey A ride along the roads and lanes of south-west Lancashire. We start at Luciano’s at the Millstone following cycle route 91 to Coppull and Wrightington. We soon pick up Rufford Old Road which takes us to our coffee and cake stop. We'll be stopping at Tastebuds at Rufford, amost exactly halfway round the ride and should get there just before lunch so we hope toi beat the rush After refreshments, we head to Croston, Ulnes Walton and Euxton after which we pick up the Chorley Loop which takes us to our final stretch of road along Chorley Road and Bolton Road back to Luciano's.
The roads are a mixture of main roads and country lanes ideally suited to a road bike or hybrid. Average speed will be 10mph.
Although helmets are only recommended by law and not deemed to be essential, anyone not wearing a helmet will not be able to join the ride. Please be self-sufficient and arm yourself with spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump. Don’t forget your pennies for the café stop. Please ensure you bring along a drink for the ride. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the starting time for a quick bike check and ride briefing.
