Starting point

Renfrewshire

An relaxed evening ride, through three of the best Glasgow parks.

From the Riverside Museum, we'll head to Bellahouston Park on cycle paths and quiet roads. We'll ride through Bellahouston Park passing by Mackintosh's House for an Art Lover. We'll then connect to Pollok Park on cycle paths and cycle lanes. We'll stop briefly at the Pollok house. We'll then cycle through the park, passing the newly-refurbished Burrell Collection. We'll then head to Queen's Park on the road. Once there, we can have another short break by the pond. Those who want a challenge can climb to the top of the hill, to be rewarded by beautiful views over the city. We'll head back to the start via the new South City Way and the Clyde side.

As we'll be riding into the evening, you must have fully-charged front and rear lights and reflectors as required by the Highway Code.

A ride to visit three parks in Glasgow: Bellahouston, Rouken Glen and Queen's. On route, we'll pass by distinctive sights such as Mackintosh's House for an Art Lover, the picturesque Pollok House and the newly refurbished Burrell Collection. We'll see horses, Scotland's Highland cattle and an Elephant! In Queen's Park, there will be the opportunity to admire a stunning view over Glasgow from hilltop. This ride is suitable to everyone: whether you return to cycling after a long time, or want to become more confident cycling in a group, or simply for a ride and a chat!

The ride is mostly on cycle lanes and paths, however there are some short sections on road, sharing with motor traffic. Suitable for any type of bike, including city bike share. The route is mostly flat with a couple of short, moderate ascents in the parks. The optional climb to the top of Queen's park is short but steep. All paved surfaces.

We'll have a brief stop in each of the three parks. The first stop is at Bellahouston Park. The second stop is at the Pollok house, by the river. Finally, we'll have another brief stop in Queen's park, by the pond and near cafes.

Any bike in full working order is suitable, including city bike share. A helmet is advised. Bring something to drink and maybe some snacks. Evening ride: please bring fully-charged front and rear lights.

We never leave anyone behind
