Starting point

Renfrewshire
G3 8RS

A ride to visit three of the largest parks in Glasgow: Pollok, Rouken Glen and Queen's. On route, we'll pass by distinctive sights such as the picturesque Pollok House and the newly refurbished Burrell Collection. We'll see horses and Scotland's Highland cattle. Finally, there will be the opportunity to admire a stunning view over Glasgow from Queen's park hilltop.

This ride is suitable to everyone: whether you return to cycling after a long time, or after the winter season, or want to become more confident cycling in a group, or simply for a ride and a chat!

The ride is mostly on cycle lanes and paths, however there are some short sections on road, sharing with motor traffic. Suitable for any type of bike, including city bike share.
The route is mostly flat with a couple of short, moderate ascents. The optional climb to the top of Queen's park is short but steep. All paved surfaces.

We'll stop for a break in each of the three parks. The first brief stop is at the Pollok house, by the river, where a cafe is available for any need. We'll stop for a longer break, food and drinks (or coffee and cake) at Rouken Glen park, at The Boathouse. Finally, we'll have another brief stop in Queen's park, by the pond and near cafes.

A cycling helmet is highly recommended. Bring a bike in working order and remember to wear layers and be prepared for the Glasgow changeable weather. If you can, bring a spare inner tube for your bike, in case of puncture. We'll stop at a cafe so remember some cash/card and a bike lock in case we need to leave the bikes while ordering food/drinks.
