Join us for a good workout with three challenging hills as well as two less strenuous cycleways and some roads. From the startpoint, we head straight up the first hill, Smithills Dean, and then make our way downhill to Bradshaw for our second ascent up Bradshaw Road. We then follow the road to Greenmount where we pick up the Kirklees Trail into Bury. From Bury we take the road to Bolton and pick up the Middelbrook Trail to Horwich where we have our final ascent up Claypool Road and New Chapel Lane before returning to our startpoint.
The route is a mixture of roads and about 8-9 miles of cycle trails, both suitable for a road bike. The hills are challenging but we'll take rests where needed. We'll stop for refreshments at the cafe in Queens Park.

Helmets are mandatory on this ride. Please bring a spare inner tube and pump in case of a puncture. Dress according to the weather. You must be a member of Horwich Ride Social to join this ride.
