From the start we head in a clockwise direction away from reservoir heading down to Whitworth then veer away picking up the bridleways towards Broadley Fold, Higher Dunishbooth, Whimsly Hill, Pike Brow up to Old Sink Slack.
We then drop down to Rossendale Valley via Higher Boarsgreave, where we stop for the main break.
In Rossendale Valley we pick up the A681 for a fair distance, taking us through Rockcliffe and Trough Gate where we go off road again, going past Shawforth and Millgate before coming back on to the A681 for a short distance before getting back to Cowm Reservoir.

This is not a technical ride so is suitable for beginners but be aware, there are climbs. Be assured, we do not leave anyone behind and we do regular stops to regroup and a breather.

Mainly bridleways and quiet lanes but there is quite a long section on the A681
