From West Drayton we take an off road path to Little Britain lakes and the Malt Shovel. After following the path alongside the Colne river we join the towpath alongside the Grand Union to Denham. Through the country park and Bucks golf course. Up to Higher Denham, then to Chiltern Open Air Museum for lunch. Back via Chalfont St Peter, up to Gerrards Cross down and up to Black Park. Then we can choose whether to go through Langley Park and Iver to the Malt Shovel then West Drayton, or whether to do a slightly shorter route back to the same place. This will be 25-30 miles, but with 3 hills (up to Higher Denham, up to GX and up to Black Park), and a bit more on-road, although these are quiet roads. I was going to call it "moderate" but called it "challenging" because of more hills than TFCC members usually do (which is not many!), but we will take it easy and ride at the pace of the slowest rider. I will be riding from Hillingdon to WD station, so if you want to arrive by tube to Hillingdon station I can ride with you. I have the ride starting quite late so that people can get there by public transport. You can also finish at Uxbridge rather than WD and take tube home. Hard to know how long it will take, but I would like to allow plenty of time for chatting and fafffing, so estimate getting back between 3-4pm.
