Depending on how fast the blooms progress, a highlight of this women-only ride should be our stop at the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park to look at the multiple azaleas, rhododendrons etc.

Our ride leaves Syon to cycle through Brentford High Street and up to Kew Bridge in order to join the river-path on the south side of the Thames as far as Mortlake. From there we cycle to and across Richmond Park enjoying good views of Penn Pond and a refreshment stop before reaching the Isabella Plantation where we will pause awhile before leaving the Park via Ham Gate and cycling to Teddington Lock. We use the Lock to cross back over the Thames and return via Twickenham and the riverside, past the nine acre Eel Pie Island and Marble Hill House before catching a magnificent view of the Star and Garter building on the opposite side of the Thames.

To join the ride you need a bike in full working order so please check beforehand that the brakes work, the wheels spin freely and the tyres are pumped up. No special clothing is required but dress for the weather, remembering gloves and avoiding loose garments that could catch in your chain. A helmet, some drinking water and a spare inner tube are recommended as well as cash for refreshments and a lock for your bike.
