From the Sports Hub car park, we will ride alongside the outdoor track and alongside the entrance road to Nova Hreod school. We join the cycle path adjacent to Akers Way, drop down through the estate and under the Purton road bridge. We ride up the old Purton road cycle path and cross into Peatmoor, passing by the local shopping area. We cycle clockwise around Peatmoor lagoon then across onto Roughmoor Way to Shaw. From the village centre we then follow the meandering path through Middleaze and up to the edge of Lydiard Park.

We ride along Shaw Ridge, before dropping down and riding under Mead Way following the cycle path to B&Q and Bruce Bridges. Our route then follows the commuter cycle path under the railway lines to Station Road.

The route joins the cycle path through the Fleming Way Bus Hub to Medgbury Road where we turn left and cycle along the residential streets to reach Station Road again. The cycle path takes us under Great Western Way and into Gorse Hill. After some more cycling in the residential streets we join the cycle path that runs alongside Austradius Brook, and back onto the Akers Way cycle path to return to the Sports Hub.

Glow rides are a national initiative for everyone, especially women, to have the right to ride our streets at night with confidence. Today has been marked as Glow Ride Night. We want as many people, women especially, to participate. Please add as many lights as you can to your bike and to your body.

The route is on quieter traffic roads and cycle paths. It's a pretty flat route with a couple of steady climbs. The majority of the route is lit by street lights, but with all our lights we will be able to light up the dark patches.

As this is a short ride there won't be any official stops. The Sports Hub has a cafe, so you can buy refreshments before or after the ride.

As it is a night ride, then bike lights are essential, but as it is a glow ride then please add extra lights if you are able. Please bring a bottle with your favourite thirst quencher and snacks to keep you going. For all your rides we recommend that you bring a spare inner tube that is suitable for your bike, plus a pump. If your wheels are bolted on, then please bring a spanner that fits your bike's wheel nuts. You should dress appropriately for the weather and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash and a payment card. Some places only accept electronic payments these days.

We welcome anyone to join us and ride with us, whether this is your first time or someone who has participated on previous rides. We never leave anyone behind.
