Starting point

Greater Manchester
M19 2SS

Starting from Station South Cycle Café - short distance from Levenshulme train station - we ride down the Fallowfield Loop (NCN Route 6:60) towards Chorlton Park then through Sale Water Park & along the Bridgewater Canal towpath which forms part of NCN Route 62 til we get to the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) carpark on Oldfield Brow in Broadheath. We then continue along its wide shared paths to Lymm. We'll make our way on short sections of minor roads to Lymm Village centre to have our lunch break shortly before 12 noon at Sextons Village Bakery. The return journey takes us along the same section of TPT towards Timperley, crossing Wythenshawe Park & into Northenden for another 16 miles, going past the NCN Route 62 Millennium Mile Post in East Didsbury then along Burnage Lane followed by Errwood Road Cycleway back to Levenshulme.

A mostly FLAT & OFF-ROAD ride suitable for ALL types of bicycle - although not recommended for skinny slick tyres as there are sections of loose gravel, uneven surface e.g. cracked concrete caused by rising tree roots as well as minor dirt tracks - along the National Cycle Network (NCN), one of the UK's national treasures that was created (1978), built (1995) & to this day maintained by Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (the new name for the Active Travel charity Sustrans) in partnership with other organisations & with help from dedicated volunteers as well as generous supporters alike.
