Starting point

Renfrewshire
G3 8RS

The route is a 33 mile loop from Glasgow Riverside Museum, heading north to cycle on the old Strathkelvin Railway Path, along the bottom of the Campsie hills.

We head north along the Kelvin River path towards Milngavie. We then take country roads through Baldernock, Mugdock to Strathblane. We then join the Strathkelvin Railway Path (https://johnmuirway.org/day-trips/strathkelvin-railway-path/), following the bottom of the Campsie Hills, with beautiful views. We briefly detour to the start of the Campsie Glen, where we will have a coffee stop at The Glen Café Bistro (https://www.facebook.com/theglencafebistro/, facilities available), half way into the ride. Back into the path, we ride to Kirkintilloch, joining the Forth and Clyde Canal. Return is nice and flat along the Canal to Glasgow via the new Stockingfield Bridge.

The ride is mostly on cycle paths, there are some sections on road, mostly quiet.
There are some hills in the first third of the ride, the rest is essentially flat.

Coffee stop at The Glen Café Bistro (https://www.facebook.com/theglencafebistro/, facilities available), half way into the ride.

Bring a bike in working order, preferably with gears. A helmet is recommended. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated while riding and snacks as needed. Remember some cash if you want to get food/drinks at the café stop.
