Ride Leaders - Lesley & Jan.
Average ride speed 8-10 mph . Elevation 650 ft.
Come and join us to see how the RHS gardens are developing as Spring begins to arrive.
We head off on this relatively flat ride using roads and trails to pick up the Roe Green Loop line into Monton. Then its onto the Bridgewater canal towpath to our destination of RHS Bridgewater gardens. After a relaxing café stop we then return to Bolton using a canal tow path, trails and roads.
There is the option for a short look around the gardens if anyone wants to but please note an entry fee applies and you may have to book in advance, be sure to select the 'green travel option ' as we have come by bike and it is cheaper - see the RHS website for booking and further information.
If no one is looking around the gardens the ride duration will be shorter than advertised assuming no punctures or other mishaps!
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of the ride for a bike check and ride briefing.
If you have not completed a ride participant form previously for one of the HRS rides, please request one via email
[email protected]. Please ensure your bike is in good working condition. . Please bring your spare inner tubes, bike levers and pump (don’t worry about the latter if you don’t have one). A good lock is needed for the café stop as the bike racks will not be visible to us. Helmets are mandatory on this ride.
